Safeguarding Our Patients, Visitors and Staff
In compliance with Assembly Bill (AB) 2975 Hospital Weapons Detection Policy and Screening, the California Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) has mandated hospitals and medical centers to adopt a weapon detection screening process by March 1, 2027. At Salinas Valley Health Medical Center, all patients, visitors, physicians, and staff entering the medical center began using a designated entrance to pass through the new weapons detection system beginning July 28, 2026.

This enhanced security measure helps provide a safer environment for everyone while maintaining a welcoming and secure experience throughout our facility.

Matthew Griffin, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Griffin completed his orthopaedic surgery residency through the University of Southern California at Los Angeles General Medical Center, where he trained at one of the nation's busiest Level 1 Trauma Centers and gained comprehensive experience across all areas of orthopaedic surgery.

Walk With a Doc: Living Healthy with GLP-1s

Structured Support to Help Quit the Habit 
Salinas Valley Health offers an affordable eight-week program with proven techniques to stop vaping or smoking. From medication and lifestyle changes to coping strategies to manage stress and avoid weight gain, the program provides the support
needed to remain smoke-free. The in-person course costs
$25 and begins Monday, August 10 at 5:30pm.
